Richard M. Jones
American jazz pianist and composer Richard M. Jones was a notable jazz artist who began working with various bands in New Orleans, including the Eureka Brass Band from 1902. He played a variety of instruments such as alto horn, cornet, but more often than not the piano. In the early 1920s he started recording his own solo material as a pianist, as well as working as an accompanist to vocalists and a variety of Chicago bands. He is well known for writing the popular early blues standard "Trouble In Mind". It was first recorded in 1924 by vocalist Thelma La Vizzo, with Jones providing the piano accompaniment.
