Ned Washington
Ned Washington was an American lyricist. He began his career introducing acts in vaudeville shows and writing for the Tin Pan Alley publishers. After working on a number of Broadway shows his reputation flourished, leading to his move to Hollywood where he worked in collaboration with many of the great composers of his day including Dimitri Tiomkin, Victor Young, and Max Steiner. His successful compositions include, but are by no means limited to, "Wild is the Wind", "The High and the Mighty", and "Green Dolphin Street".
