John Rostill
British bassist and songwriter John Rostill was the bassist for The Shadows after replacing Brian Locking and staying with the band until the end of the 1960s. As well as playing in the band, Rostill co-wrote many of The Shadows hit songs including "In The Country", "The Rise and Fall of Flingle Bunt" and "Genie With The Light Brown Lamp". He also wrote/co-wrote hits for Olivia Newton-John, such as "If You Love Me (Let Me Know)" and "Please Mr. Please". After The Shadows, Rostill toured with Tom Jones. He would have continued work with The Shadows, had it not been for his untimely death in 1973.
