Jessie Mae Robinson
American songwriter Jessie Mae Robinson wrote classic songs during the 1950s. Her best known numbers include "I Went to Your Wedding", "Keep It a Secret", "The Other Woman" and she co-wrote "Blue Light Boogie" with Louis Jordan. She also wrote the Elvis Presley song "Let's Have a Party", which he sang in the film "Loving You" (1957). Robinson became the first female African American songwriter to become a member of The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, after joining in 1953.
