Gene Vincent
Gene Vincent was an American musician who pioneered the rockabilly style in the late 1950 with his hit "Be-Bope-A-Lula". The track's distinctively nuanced and breathless vocals combined with the driving backbeat rhythm epitomise the rockabilly genre in its heyday. Vincent co-wrote the song with Sheriff Tex Davis and recorded it with his band 'The Blue Caps'. The record has sold over 2 million copies to date, justifying Vincent's place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
