Fenton Robinson Fenton Robinson was an American blues singer, songwriter and guitarist who recorded his first single "Tennessee Woman" in 1957. He also wrote for Lowell Fulson and Larry Davis, and performed with Sonny Boy Williamson, Junior Wells, and many other blues legends. After moving to Chicago in 1962 Robinson recorded his signature song, "Somebody Loan Me a Dime" (1967). According to 1997's Encyclopedia of Blues, the song has become a blues standard, being "part of the repertoire of one out of every two blues artists". He then went on to release two more albums titled "I Hear Some Blues Downstairs" (1978) and "Nightflight" (1984), both of which won critical acclaim.
