Laura Nyro
Laura Nyro was an American songwriter, singer, and pianist. Her style was a hybrid of Brill Building-style New York pop, jazz, gospel, rhythm and blues, show tunes, rock and soul. Nyro recorded ten studio albums between 1967 and 1993. Artists such as Barbra Streisand and The 5th Dimension enjoyed success from recording songs from Nyro's albums "Eli and the Thirteenth Confession" (1968) and "New York Tendaberry" (1969). In 2012, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
