Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton is one of the Worldwide symbols of country music. From the tender age of ten, Dolly was making regular radio appearances on the local Knoxville country station and at the age of 13 made her debut on the Grand Ole Opry via WSM-Radio. Having graduated from high school, Dolly left almost immediately for Nashville and within a few months became a regular on the Porter Wagoner Show. Following her first U.S. hit, "Norma Jean," in 1967 Dolly went on to become co-host on Wagoner's show.

Regular hits and television and movie appearances have helped make Dolly a household name around the world. In an age when the country music scene and its administration was completely dominated by men, Dolly helped to open the doors to female singers and for them to be taken seriously. Her movie credits include "9 to 5" in 1980, "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" in 1982, "Rhinestone" in 1984, "Steel Magnolias" in 1989, and "Straight Talk" in 1992. Dolly even had her own television show, "Dolly!" from 1987 to 1988.

Dolly has won seven CMA Awards, five ACM Awards, four Grammys, and countless other awards during her career. She has written over 3,000 songs to date.
