Jerry Lee Lewis
'The Killer' as Jerry Lee Lewis was nicknamed, was one of the first artists to be inaugurated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Bringing an unprecedented edge to piano music, his raw energy has inspired countless performers, including Elton John and Billy Joel. Born in Louisiana in 1935 Lewis garnered elements from a whole spectrum of music genres, blending gospel, country, rhythm and blues and boogie woogie to create his own unique style. 1957 saw his first hit 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On'. It was quickly followed by 'Great Balls of Fire', which brought him to the attention of an international audience and remains his biggest hit. The pure embodiment of raw, reckless, rock 'n' roll spirit.
